St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Annouces Meeting Schedule

The congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Mountain Top encourages you to join them for worship this week. The following is a brief summary of upcoming worship and service opportunities.

Sunday Church School begins at 9:30 a. m.

Pastor Michele D. Kaufman leads Sunday worship services at St. Paul’s at 8:30 am, and 11:00 am. The Church office (570-474-6616) is open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Pastor Kaufman is in the office Mondays 10 a. m.-2 p. m.

The Organist/Director is Christine Katsock.

Weight Watchers meet very Wednesday at 6:15 p. m.

AA Meetings are held every Wednesday and Fridays at 7 p. m.

NA Meetings are scheduled every Thursday at 6 p. m.

A Stress & Anxiety Management support group meets every 2nd and last Tuesdays of the month at 6:30.

St. Paul’s Summer Camp-Children will learn about the solar system and the garden through art, music, stories and many other activities. There will be two sessions: The First Session on July 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, and 24 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays), and the Second Session will be held: July 28, 29, 30 31, and August 4, 5, 6, 7 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The time for both sessions will be 9 a. m. to 12 p. m. The cost for the two week session is $96.00: this includes the supply fee. Contact Lisa at 570-474-6616 to register between time 9am to noon. The camp is limited to the first 18 children to enroll. Ten children are needed to start the camp. Ages-3-5 years old (must be fully potty trained).

For the Solar System Camp, children need to have completed kindergarten, first or second grade to enroll in this camp.

Bible Study-The New book “ BOOK OF FAITH” starts on Monday, May 21, 2014 at 7:00 p. m. and May 27th Tuesday, at the St. Paul’s church.

Daytime Bible Study at 2 p. m. at Wright Manor in Mountain Top every Monday at 2:00p.m.; current studies is the Book of Romans.

Also, in the evenings there is a discussion of the beginnings of the Church and stories in the Acts of the Apostles Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 27. All are welcome to join us.

The Yarn Spinners continue to meet first Wednesday of each month. Next meeting is May 7 at 12:30 p. m. at the Church. If you would like to learn, these are the ladies to learn from, the lessons are given by Lois. If you cannot make the meetings but would like to volunteer your talents call 570-474-5502, and work at your own pace at home.

Board Game Day is held Every third Wednesday at 1 p. m., bring your favorite game and a snack to share. Next game day is May 21st.

WELCA meeting is set for Wednesday, May 14th, at 1 p. m. at the church. The group will be making book markers for the Hymnals

HOAGIES!!!! All Hoagie orders must be in by May 11th, and picked up on May 15th. Cost of each delicious hoagie, is only $4.00. They are available the third Thursday of each month, and all proceeds go to the Church.

Please remember the first Sunday of each month is declared “FOOD BANK DAY” Items in need are peanut butter, jelly, ketchup, dry soups, popcorn, canned soup, canned fruit, mustard, mayonnaise, tuna, and tea and coffee. Please let us not forget the people less fortunate anywhere.

Youth Group roller skating on May 14th, at Skateway in Wilkes-Barre from 6-9 p. m. Don’t forget to bring a item for a discounted rate.

The third Christian Concert at St. Paul’s is slated Saturday, May 24, 2014, from 6:30 to 8 p. m. The concert will feature national recording artist Cristabelle Braden. Open to the Public this concert at no cost for admission. There will be a CD signing and a Meet and Greet after the concert.

Cristabelle is 21 years old, will be performing original material and some favorites as she brings over 5 years acoustical experience to the table. It is a spirit filled , a highly charged musical presentation that is sure to warm your bones and touch your heart. The presentation of Gospel mix of Christian Contemporary music will impact you long after the last note is played.
