Rotary Club Unveils Largest Fundraiser At Business Mixer
Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

The Mt Top Rotary held its first ever business mixer on April 30 at King’s Pizza. We had 40 attendees came out to mingle and enjoy who the great food and speakers. The room filled with excitement when we unveiled its next and largest fundraiser to date: Mountain Top Rotary Steam Engine Excursion.

This train ride to Jim Thorpe will take place on July 5th. It will be a special event since a Steam Engine will be used for the trip. Tickets will be on sale at the Triangle Pharmacy and online at rotarytrainride.com.

We would like to thank all who attended the meeting and made this a huge success. Special thanks to our guest speakers: Dave Hourigan, Century 21 Smith-Hourigan Group, and Tom Williams, Quad 3 Engineering and Wilkes-Barre Chamber. Both were very informative on our areas of growth past, present and future. Proceeds from this wonderful evening will help fight polio.

Rotary began in 1905 when a few businessmen in Chicago decided to work together for the benefit of their business community and their city. The business and professional men and women of the Rotary Club of Mountain Top wanted to do just that: bring the business people together on a regular basis to stay informed and work together through the Rotary Club. Always looking to grow and expand, we encourage you to attend our breakfast meetings on Wednesdays, Chalet Restaurant at 7:30 a. m. and see what we are all about. Our biggest goal is to help people in this community and give back.

Keep your eyes open for the next scheduled business mixer. You won’t want to miss it.
