4-H Family Weekend Camp Set

If you are looking for fun family time, you are invited to attend 4-H Family Camp, July 11-13. Enjoy all the activities of sleep away camp on a weekend! Family camp is for children ages 8-15 and a parent or designated adult. Adults and children will enjoy the ropes course, archery, hiking, outdoor cooking and more!

4-H Family Camp is open to all families in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties. Children do not need to be members of 4-H to attend. An adult may bring up to three children for the weekend camp. Family camp will be held at Camp Shehaqua in Hickory Run State Park, White Haven.

Camp Shehaqua provides a beautiful, natural setting for family fun and togetherness. All campers sleep on beds in rustic cabins without electricity. Bathroom and shower facilities are communal. Meals and snacks are included in the $80 per person fee.

“For children not quite ready to go away to camp or families looking for a way to reconnect with each other, this weekend will provide a condensed camp experience –all the fun but not the time commitment,” said Debra Brodhecker, Pike County 4-H Educator.

4-H is a youth organization that enables kids to have fun, meet new people, build self-confidence and learn by doing things. Adult leaders are screened and trained to work with youth.
