St. Jude School Holds Sports Association Banquet

St. Jude School recently held its Sports Association Banquet at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course Clubhouse to honor the athletes who participated in the interscholastic programs offered by the school.

Association President Carol Wills welcomed the guests followed by the invocation delivered by Rev. Joseph Evanko, Pastor of St. Jude Parish. The evening’s program included acknowledgement of the members of the girls junior varsity, boys junior varsity, girls varsity, and boys varsity basketball teams.

Special recognition was given to Morghan Murphy for receiving the Kathryn Konopelski Memorial Award, presented to the Most Valuable Eighth Grade Lady Nomad Basketball Player; and to Sean Wills for receiving the Peter Fiascki Memorial Award, presented to the Most Valuable Player on the Boys Basketball Team.

In addition, the George Overa Memorial Award was presented to Brett Caladie. Corey Chalk was presented with a special ball in recognition of scoring 500 points. The program concluded with a slide presentation highlights of the season.
