Howton Awarded Engineering Degree
Alexandra Howton

Alexandra Marie Howton graduated from Boston University in Boston, MA on May 18. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an aerospace concentration that focused on technical electives and included a NASA internship.

In addition, Alex was awarded the Student Advisor Service Award for her outstanding efforts in advising and assisting fellow students as a mentor in the college freshman transitional program.

In her undergraduate career, she was also an Engineering Scholar half-tuition award recipient, Steven P. Evans Memorial Scholarship recipient and Dean’s List honoree.

Alex assumed many leadership roles, including president of Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Honorary, vice president and treasurer of Sigma Gamma Tau Engineering Honor Society, College of Engineering Dean’s Host and Student Advisor, and president of the Photography Club. She was also elected to join the national Order of the Engineer, demonstrating responsibility and pride in the engineering profession. She now plans to start her career, and in the future, earn her Master’s degree in engineering.

Alex is a 2010 graduate of Crestwood High School. She is the daughter of Matt and Wendy Howton and sister to Zachary.
