St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mt. Blvd. in Mountain Top will host their Spring Flea Market and Chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 21st. The Indoor Flea Market will be held from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. This year’s Flea Market will be huge as all of the inside spaces have been sold. There are still outside spaces available. Contact Marty Kellow at 570-474-5387 for more information. The Chicken BBQ starts at 12 p. m. for take outs. Sit downs dinners are available at 4 p. m. Tickets are $9.50 per adult and $4.50 per child. With an awesome line-up of movies and a new screening night, Kiwanis expects this to be the best Movies in the Park summer on record. The movies will be shown on Saturday nights instead of Sunday at the Wright Twp Park baseball field in the hopes that will attract more families that are willing to stay up past 10pm. Here is the line-up: June 21 -Frozen, July 26 -The Lego Movie and August 23 -Back to the Future. As always, the movies and popcorn are free! Other refreshments will be available. Movies start at twilight but come early for music, karaoke and enjoying all that Wright Twp Park has to offer. Remember to bring lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray.
The “We Three Brass Concert” scheduled for June 8 has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 22 at St. Martin in the Fields Church. For more information call 570-474-5807.
Christ United Methodist Church will present this year’s Vacation Bible School, “Weird Animals” Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27 at 175 S. Main Rd, from 6 to 8:30 p. m. Children from ages 3 (potty trained) through 6th grade are invited. Pre-register by calling 570-474-6060. The cost is $1 per child and 1 can of juice per family. Donations will be appreciated.
The Mountain Top Social Club will meet at June 24 at the St. Jude’s Church in one of the classrooms outside of the Father Nolan Hall Day room. Go through the Day Room into the hallway and make a left up the stairs into the class room. Doors will open at 1 pm. New members are welcome Bakers are; Susan Mylet; Lucy Niemick and Louise Obaza. The Mt. Top Diabetes Support Group will be held on Thursday, June 26th. Topic for this meeting is: “Eating Out” at King’s Restaurant. You must pre-register to attend since there is limited seating.
