The 40th graduating class of Widener University School of Law received diplomas in a ceremony on the Wilmington, Del. campus green Saturday, May 17.
The 276 graduates heard remarks from Delaware Gov. Jack Markell and Jordan Strokoff of Camp Hill, Pa., the class valedictorian.
Christopher Opiel, Mountaintop, was among the graduates who earned a Juris Doctor.
Widener is a metropolitan university that connects curricula to social issues through civic engagement. It provides an all-around comprehensive legal education program with special certificates from its Health Law Institute, the Law & Government Institute, the Taishoff Advocacy, Technology and Public Service Institute, and the Institute of Delaware Corporate and Business Law and through its Environmental Law Center.
