Big Things Ahead This Fall For St. Martin In The Fields

August 30 is the tentative date for Third Annual Picnic for St. Martin in the Fields at St. Matthews Grove on Nuangola Rd. It is just down from the corner by the Church. Bring a covered dish or dessert to share and your own soft drinks. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. There will be games for old and young, lots of good food, and fun for all!

Have you flown a kite recently? To fly a kite in the wind is a great and simple pleasure that you should share with your children. Well, St. Martin in the Fields is going to give you an opportunity to fly with the experts from the Pocono Kite Symphony. Here is you chance to not only enjoy the outdoors but to participate in an activity that you and your children will enjoy. .

St. Martin in the Fields is sponsoring the Second Mountain Top Kite Festival on September 27th. This will be a fantastic event for “children” of all ages and the second one to be held in our area. Each child can sign up to build a kite and then be helped to learn how to fly it. There will be a kite flying exhibition by the Pocono Kite Symphony and a DJ will keep you entertained.

October 18th is St. Martin’s annual bazaar featuring fabulous gift baskets, a bake sale featuring our Welsh cookies, craft and rummage sale, and plenty of great food.

Interested in learning something new? St. Martin’shavejustwhat you may have been looking for. Father Dan Fitzsimmons is planning on teaching classes for Eucharistic Ministers and acolytes tentatively starting in September.

Also in the plans is an “Instructed Eucharist” for a Sunday in the fall.
