The Wright Township Recreation Board will be holding the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 7:00pm in front of the municipal building. In addition to lighting the outdoor trees there will be carol singing and a special visit from Santa Clause. Bring your flashlights and come to enjoy the program. Refreshments will be served. St. Jude School students who are participating in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition are sponsoring a Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 5 from 9 a. m. until noon in the school cafeteria. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns, juice, cocoa, and coffee. Tickets are $10 which includes a personalized Christmas ornament. There will also be children’s crafts, holiday music, and a holiday basket raffle. Professional photos with Santa will be $5.00. Advanced reservations are encouraged. The White Haven Area Community Library will host a Holiday Quilt Display on Saturday December 5, at the former DeWitt Homestead, 231 WIlkes Barre Street, White Haven, from 11:00am till 3:00pm. Donations are $5.00 per person 13 years of age or older. Children 12 and under are free. Area crafters and artisans will have hand made items for sale to help with your holiday shopping. Baskets will be raffled. End your visit with a purchase from our bake sale. On display will be unique and colorful family hand made quilts, loaned from families of the area. A quilting demonstration will be hosted by a friend of the library, watch the love of each stitch and learn some tips. The design and characteristics of a quilt tell a story of an important event in life such as marriage, birth, leaving home, or any other significant life milestone.
