4-H Members Participate In PA State Horse Show
STATE CHAMPION-Maggie Fraley, White Haven, was the First Place Winner in Low Working Hunter Ponies class at the Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show.

Fifteen Luzerne County 4-H members recently participated in the 56th annual Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show. More than 700 youth from 60 counties participated in 73 performance classes throughout the weekend event. The state show is the final competition of the year for 4-H horse members enrolled in performance horse projects. To be eligible for the show, members must advance through qualifying competitions at county and district levels.

Receiving state honors at the horse show were: Maggie Fraley, White Haven, 1st in Low Working Hunter Ponies; Ariel Banks, 4th in Low Working Hunter Horses and 7th in Low Equitation Over Fences Sr. Rider; Lilly Fraley, White Haven, 5th in Low Equitation Over Fences, Jr. Rider; Adriana Pitts, 7th in Hunter Under Saddle Ponies (13.0 hands and under); Madelyn Gardner, 8th in Beginner English Equitation; Carey-Anne Keiper, 9th in Barrel Race Ponies, Sr. Rider; Sophia Stash, 9th in Beginner English Pleasure; Maci Iddings, 10th in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat, Jr. Division.

Also participating in the state horse show were: Nina Dellarte, Diane Friedman, Abby May, Sarah Maseychik, Jennifer Merithew, Hanna Weiss, and Klay Zimmerman.

Luzerne County received the Overall Good Housekeeping Award
