On December 4, the Crestwood girls opened their 2015-16 WVC District 2 Class 3A basketball season with a 42-33 win over Meyers.

Crestwood started strong, leading from start to finish.

Maddie Ritsick led all scorers with 22 points. Katie Snipas and Makowski followed with seven points a piece.

Sara Hopkins, Abbie Macko, and Marlee Dillion each added two points in the win.

Crestwood lost to Nanticoke Area, 40-30, in a game played December 9.

Crestwood held an 18-13 lead to end the first half but the Lady Trojans turned on the offense in the second to outlast the Lady Comets.

Crestwood was led by Ritsick with eight points followed by Snipas who contributed seven.

Also scoring for the Lady Comets were Abie Murphy and Macko with five points each, Hopkins, three, and Andrea Shipton tossed in two.

Millersville dominated the Crestwood girls, defeating the Lady Comets, 74-52, in a game played December 12.

Crestwood got off to a slow start offensively, allowing Millersville to build a 10 point lead at halftime.

Ritsick led the Crestwood scoring with 21 points.

Contributing to the Lady Comets point tally were Snipas with 12 points while Julie Makowksi chipped in eight, Emily Shiplett scored four points, Hopkins added three. Dillon and Macko each finished with two.

The Crestwood boys basketball team lost to Williamsport, 58-50, in a game played December 9.

Crestwood took control in the first half to take a 37-29 lead into the second but the offense started to fade as Williamsport outscored the Comets.

Jason Klusewitz led the Comets

in scoring with 16 points. Brandon Schmidt tossed in 10 while Josh Malkemes added eight. Also putting points on the board were Robbie Hopkins with six, Kyle Richards, four, Kyle Gegaris, two, and Tim McCue, two.

Crestwood captured a thrilling two-point win over Meyers on December 11.

Meyers led in the game at halftime, up 24-22. The teams played even in the third quarter but Crestwood came through in the final stanza for the 43-41 victory.

Malkemes was the high scorer for Crestwood with nine points, followed by and Klusewitz and Lance Blass who each tossed in eight. Hopkins put six on the score board for the winners.

Also scoring for the Comets were Mendell Foreman with four, Kevin Klusewitz with two and Brandon Schmidt chipped in two. +++++
