St. Jude’s LessonsAnd Carols Concert Slated December 20

The 9th Annual Lessons and Carols Concert will be held on Sunday, December 20 at 4 p. m. in the church. The concert tells the story of salvation history in Christ and features the music ministry. There will be guest instrumentalists. A light reception will follow in the school cafeteria. Snow date is December 27.

Confession and Holy Hour will be available December 21 at 7 p. m. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience peace and quiet before the Blessed Sacrament.

St. Mary’s in Dorrance will have an Advent Evening of Reconciliation on Tuesday, December 22 from 6 p. m. until 7 p. m. in the church.

Oplatki (Christmas Wafers) are available. They are located by the Baptismal font. The suggested donation is $3.

The Mass schedule for Christmas at St. Jude’s is as follows: Christmas Eve at 4 p. m., 7 p. m., and midnight; Christmas Day at 8 a. m., 10 a. m., and noon.

All St. Jude Church contributions for 2015 must be received or postmarked by December 31, 2015 in order for your tax deductible contributions to show on your 2015 statement. Your continued use of our envelope system or online giving is the only method we have to correctly itemize your gifts.

The next Caring Kids Club meeting will be January 6. They will be making scarves for the area homeless men and women.

The Office for Parish Life will offer training for new Extraordinary ministers of Communion on February 2, 9, and 16 from 6:30 pm. until 9 p. m. in the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 330 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton. The following items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: canned fruit, jelly, mayonnaise, peanut butter, coffee, noodles, hot chocolate, jello, boxed soup instead to Ramon noodles, cream soups, baked beans, tuna, pudding, and sugar. Please drop off the items in the annex part of our church. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Saturday Vigil Masses are 4 p. m. at St. Jude’s and 5:30 p. m. at St. Mary’s. Sunday Masses are 7:30 a. m., 9 a. m., 10:30 a. m. and noon at St. Jude’s and 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s.
