Crestwood JV Hockey Loses New Year Opener
CRESTWOOD’S CHARLES HELMBOLD is defending his goal in the game against Wyoming Seminary in a game played January 17.

The Crestwood JV Ice Hockey team faced off against Twin County on January 2nd at Revolution Ice Center in Pittston.

The scoring was started by Crestwood’s Matthew Dopp, assisted by Andrew Ryman. Ryman scored the second goal in the first period this time assisted by Dopp. This resulted in a 2-2 tie. Crestwood didn’t score again until the third period, again by Ryman, unassisted. Despite their efforts, Crestwood lost 5-3. The goal wastended by No. 29 Charles Helmbold who stopped 24 shots on his goal.

The team next faced off against Wyoming Seminary on January 17th in Pittston.

Ryan Harding started the scoring in the first period which tied the teams at 1-1 going into the second period. Crestwood did not score again until the third period when Dopp scored, assisted by Kevin Frisbie during a shorthanded drive. Ryman scored, assisted by Frisbie and Harding. Unfortunately the team lost 5-3.

The goal was tended by Charles Helmbold who stopped 18 shots.

The team is coached by Frank Govan and Tom Harding.
