Margaret “Peggy” Willis, Slocum Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Herman DeWitt of Forty-Fort, where she lived until her marriage in 1960.
She was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, attended Antioch College in Ohio, and received a degree from College Misericordia. She was employed for several years at Eberhard Faber Inc., prior to her marriage, and as a legal secretary after her son was grown and until her retirement in 1990.
She was a member of St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, Mountain Top, where she served on the Vestry and for a time, as senior warden.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Frank L Willis, in 1976.
Peggy is survived by her son, Frank, his wife, Maryann Ondish, and granddaughters, Christine and Anna, all of Mountain Top.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Smith Health Care for the wonderful care and attention given to Peggy.
As per Peggy’s wishes, the funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
