This time of year almost feels like a long ride with impatient kids –“Are we there, yet?” We look out our windows and see, again, a white landscape. When will Spring come? Are we there, yet? We wait with anticipation for the first robin, the first green leaf, the first flower. In the same way the season of Lent is filled with anticipation. As we wait for the resurrection of our Lord on Easter, we use this time to see how to come closer to him –an extra daily prayer, attending special worship services, something given up for Lent. Activities like these are a means for us to prepare the way for the Lord into our hearts. Which road will lead us to Christ? As we travel through this season, we look at ourselves and ask, when will the Easter message fill my heart? “Are we there, yet?”
On Wednesdays during Lent our Fellowship Hall will be filled with the appetizing aroma of Lenten suppers. These light suppers begin at 6:00 pm and will be prepared each week by various members and groups of Emmanuel. We will then join in worship at 7:00 pm as we prepare ourselves through the lessons of Lent to better understand our Lord Jesus, his loving sacrifice and joyous resurrection. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a delicious supper and gather with us for worship. Whether you can come for supper or not, we welcome you to worship with us.
Sunday worship service is at 10:30 am and is led by Rev. Ken Newhook, our Interim Pastor. We welcome visitors and friends to join us for worship every Sunday.
