Holy Redeemer High School will perform the musical “Seussical” Saturday, February 27 at 7 p. m. in the school’s McCarthy Auditorium. The performance will be presented by Holy Redeemer’s Honors Drama/Theatre Arts III class.
The musical is based on the works of Dr. Seuss, weaving together his characters and most famous tales in unexpected ways. The show is being produced as part of the requirements for the American Musical Theatre portion of the theatre arts course. The students research, select, cast, and perform the show, as well as design and build the scenery.
The show is being co-directed by senior Roisin Burke and junior Casey Cryan, with senior Maddison Black coordinating costumes and senior Karen Hilenski designing the scenery. Thomas J. Hanlon teaches the course and will serve as faculty moderator and musical director, and Mr. Michael Stofko is assistant moderator. Miss Ann Manganiello is musical accompanist, and faculty members Mr. Steven Wise, Mr. Stephen Ruch, and Mrs. Linda Johnson are assisting students with the stage construction and scenery.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and students and are available at the door.
