Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top Sets Jim Weaver Memorial Blood Drive Feb. 27

Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, 9 Chestnut Street, just off North Main St., conducts a Worship Service at 11:00 am. Sunday School begins at 9:30 am.

You are invited to worship Sunday, February 28. Pastor James Shanley will present a Bible based lesson on “Real Life” as the third Sunday in Lent is observed.

After the Choir sings, children are invited to the front of the church for a children’s message. Afterwards, children up to 6th grade are invited to the Sunday School rooms for Children’s Church.

Following the worship service the congregation is invited to Fellowship Hall for the monthly Carry-in Luncheon. You are welcome with or without a covered dish for a fun time of fellowship and food.

Please continue to donate your food items weekly to be given to the Mountain Top food bank. Bins are located at the rear of the Sanctuary. The need is great for packaged items, mayonnaise, coffee and sugar.

There are still 2016 dates available if you would like to purchase bulletin covers to honor or recognize someone. A month’s supply of bulletin covers is $35. Flowers are also available to purchase for $35 for the vases or a special arrangement for the pedestal. Contact Allison Pekar to schedule flowers or call the church office.

Reverend Shanley’s adult Bible class will meet Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7:00 pm. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month to go deeper into the scriptures.

Reminder: The Choir practices every Thursday at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in joining this awesome Ministry of Music under the direction of the very talented Bill Blannett you are invited. The children’s choir directed by Ceil Blannett and Susan Malkemes is also preparing for the Easter celebration.

The annual Jim Weaver Memorial Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 11:30 til 3:30. There are still appointments available. Jim was a faithful servant of the church. He died in 2008 from the blood cancer Multiple Myeloma. Blood products and plasma are drastically needed to help those patients suffering from blood borne cancers such as Myeloma, Leukemia, and Lymphoma. Please give to support the memory of Jim and to help the Red Cross in their need.
