The Crestwood boys lacrosse team closed out their conference schedule with a win over the Trojans at North Pocono High School on May 10 with a final score of 18-11.
Though Crestwood possessed the ball for much of the first quarter, the Trojans defense managed to keep the Comets first quarter lead to a slim 3-1 margin. Crestwood began finding the net in the second quarter led by senior Ryan Magin and junior Zach Anderson and were able to extend the lead to 12-4 by half time. The Comets and Trojans traded goals for much of the second half but the Trojans were unable to overcome their first half deficit leading to a final score of 18-11.
In the goal for the Comets, Quinn
Roberts had 10 saves in 3.5 quarters, and Liam Stone saved 2 in .5 quarters.
Crestwood closes out the season with a 7-3 conference record.
The Crestwood girls’ lacrosse team edged visiting Scranton Prep by a score of 8-7 in a game played May 9.
Paige Zaleppa’s recorded a hat trick for the Lady Comets in the win. Teammates Hannah Ackers and Natasha Koslop finished with two goals apiece. Jaelyn Cavanaugh finished with one
Julia Filchak had 10 saves in goal for Crestwood.
On May 10, Crestwood dominated
Pittston Area, winning by a score of 11-2.
Hannah Ackers led the Lady Comets scoring attack with three goals and two assists, followed by Koslop with three goals and an assist. Zaleppa added two goals in the win.
Crestwood squeaked past Delaware Valley on May 12, walking off the field with a 9-8 victory.
Koslop led the Lady Comets in scoring with four goals followed by Ackers and Zaleppa who each scored two goals. Sam Brumagin chipped in one in the Crestwood win.
