The Basic 2-part AARP Driver Safety Class will be given at the Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Ave., in Mountain Top on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. and Tuesday, July 19th, from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. Attendance at both sessions is required if an individual has not previously taken the course, or within the past 3 years.
A refresher course will be given on Thursday July 7, 2016, from 10:00 to 2:00 p. m., also at the Kirby Library, in Mountain Top. This Course is open only to individuals who have completed either the 2-part Basic Course or Refresher Course within the past 3 years.
These courses are open to anyone, but those who are 60 and older may be eligible for a five percent auto insurance discount for the next three years. These courses need to be renewed every three years.
The cost for this course is $20 per person, or $15 for an AARP member. A check payable to AARP should be brought to the course, and will be collected by the instructor. Students should bring pens, a driver’s license, a check payable to AARP to the first class, and their AARP membership card, if they belong to the organization.
