Edward (Eddie) Engler, 28, Dorrance Township, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2016.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 6, 1987. He was the husband of Shawna Barcheski Engler. He was the son of Royce A. and Dorrine Palsha Engler.
Eddie was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 2006. He received an associate degree in criminal justice from Luzerne County Community College.
He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542, Wilkes-Barre. Eddie was an active member of the Dorrance Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Hobbie.
Eddie loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman, and he enjoyed hunting on his grandparents’ property with his father, brother, brothers-in-law and uncle. He always loved the beach ever since childhood, and treasured spending time there with his wife, brother, parents, nephews, cousins, aunt and uncle. Eddie always loved riding his motorcycle, and spent many happy days out on his bike. He was always proud to lead the motorcycle benefit ride in memory of his brother, Ree, for the past three years.
Eddie was always kind to everyone and often found helping others, never thinking of himself first. He was always wanting to see people happy and smiling. Eddie was a hard worker. He worked as a machine operator running heavy equipment, and he loved his job. He followed proudly in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle as an operating engineer, and spent much time at work with his Uncle Ed learning the tricks of the trade.
Most of all he loved his wife, Shawna, and more than anything just loved seeing her happy. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, cousin, godfather, uncle, nephew, grandson, brother-in-law and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Shawna Engler, Dorrance Township; parents, Royce A. and Dorrine Engler, at home; maternal grandmother, Audrey Palsha, Mountain Top; godparents, Edward and Margaret Palsha, Dorrance Township; cousins, Alycia and Joshua Pavlick and godson, Joshua Jack Pavlick, Hanover Township; and Charisa and Kenny Peresta and nephew, Kenneth Ree Peresta, Doylestown; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Heather and Justin Winters and godson, Bailen Winters, Downingtown; brothers-in-law, Jesse and Wyatt Steltz, Nuangola; in-laws, Walter (Buck) and Lisa Steltz, Nuangola; and William and Janice Barcheski, Mountain Top; and aunts and uncles, Mike and Andrea Engler, Bob and Judy Engler and Jeff and Mae Engler.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Royce (Ree) Engler; his grandfather, Edward Palsha; as well as many aunts and uncles who were waiting with open arms to welcome him in to Heaven.

Interment followed in Emmanuel Cemetery, Dorrance Township.
