Mountaintop Senior Club

The Mountaintop Senior Club will be holding their September meetings on Tuesday, September 13th & Tuesday, September 27th. All meeting will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Route 309, Mountaintop, at 1 p. m. The next trip is scheduled for September 22nd at the Hollywood Casino in Hershey. On October 11th there will be a trip to October festival to see “Ace in the Hole” for dinner and a show in Wayne, New Jersey. Seats are still available for both trips. S. A. L. Post 781 Meeting

The Sons of the American Legion Post 781 will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 13th at 6pm. The meeting will be held at the Post Home. For more info call 570-474-2161 or email

Fun & Games for Seniors

Adults age 50 and older are invited to come to the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library on the third Thursday of each month from 1:00 to 3:30 to play card and board games. The first session will be September 15. Get together with friends or meet new ones during an afternoon of free style play. Some games will be provided or feel free to bring your favorites to share. Meet in the community Rooms on the lower level of the library. An elevator is available for easy access. The library is located at 35 Kirby Ave., Mountaintop. Register by calling 570-474-9313.

Car Wash Benefit

A car wash to benefit Homes For Our Troops will be held on Sunday, September 18th from 10a.m. -2 p. m. in the parking lotof Mountain Top Internal Medicine Partners, 123 N. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Bring the kids, face painting also available. Homes For Our Troops builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Bass Tournaments

The Blytheburn Lake Association will sponsor a bass tournament Sunday, September 25th. Boats are to be in the water at 6:30 a. m. and out at 11 a. m. . The fee is $40 for 2-member team. It is catch and release and all bass must measure at least 15 inches to qualify. Boats must be equipped with live wells. Fifty percent of the entry fee will be given as prizes. Mountain Top Kite Festival

St. Martin in the Fields is sponsoring the FOURTH Mountain Top Kite Festival on October 1st. This will be a fantastic event for “children” of all ages and the fourth one to be held by St. Martin’s in our area. Each child can sign up to build a free kite from a kit and then helped to learn how to fly it. There will be a kite flying exhibition by the Pocono Kite Symphony and a DJ will keep you entertained. Mark your calendar now so as not to miss out on this experience. A bounce house, face painter and a balloon sculptor will be on hand for more fun things to do. There will be a refreshment stand with a selection of items.
