The Youth Ministry is planning a new fundraiser. Vouchers from the Old Post Farms will be sold to help raise money for the Youth Ministry events. The vouchers are $10 and can be used to purchase items such as a large variety of fall mums, pumpkins, straw, cornstalks, perennials, and more. The vouchers can be used at Old Post Farms from Saturday, September 3 until Sunday, October 2 when the selection is the nest. The Farms are located on St. Mary’s Road in Mountain Top and are open 7 days a week from 9 a. m. until 5 p. m. Vouchers may be purchased from the Parish Office during regular business hours or from a Youth Ministry member the weekends of September 11 and 18 after all Masses. Proceeds help sponsor retreats, March for Life, service opportunities, and teen nights.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Catholic, please attend an inquiry session for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) in the St. Jude School library on Sunday, September 11 at 1:30 p. m. Formation sessions for RCIA will begin on Sunday, September 18 and will continue weekly through the celebration of Easter. A training session has been planned for all adult employees and volunteers who have direct contact or routine interaction with children. This 3-hour training, VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children for Adults Program, will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians in Wapwallopen on Monday, September 12 at 6 p. m. There will be a meeting for students who will be attending 8th grade religious education and one of their parents on Monday, September 2 or Wednesday, September 14 from 6:30 p. m. until 8 p. m. in the St. Jude School cafeteria. No registration necessary.
St. Jude’s and St. Mary’s will be commissioning new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion on Sunday, October 9. Those interested in being commissioned are required to attend three consecutive training sessions. All current Ministers are required to attend these sessions for continuing formation and adjusted serving procedures at both churches. Sessions will be September 13, 20, and 27 at 10:30 a. m. and 6:30 p. m. Each sessions is offered twice for convenience. Contact Fr. Jeff for further info.
