The next meeting of the Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will be held on Tuesday September 20th at Cavanaughs Grille at 7pm. If your child is playing Crestwood Basketball, please attend this meeting to help us organize events that will benefit the program.
On Thursday, September 22nd we will be taking a trip to the Hollywood Casino in Hershey, PA. Pick up time will be no later than 8:15 a.m.@ St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mountaintop. The next Social Club Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 27th at 1 p. m. @ St. Paul’s Church. Submarine sandwiches and dessert will be served. Refreshments are not included please bring your own. Due to a scheduled trip to “Ace in The Hole” in Wayne, N. J. our meeting that was scheduled on Tuesday, October 11th will be cancelled. Our bus will be leaving St. Paul’s @ 8 a. m. 9 TO 5 The Musical, based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, is being presented at the Nuangola Grove Theatre. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and a little romantic. The American Red Cross will sponsor a Blood Drive September 24, 2016 from 9 a. m. -2 p. m., at the Christ United Methodist Church, 175 South Main Road. The Mountaintop Area Knights of Columbus will be conducting their annual Soccer Challenge on Sunday, September 25 from 12pm to 3pm at the Soccer field in the Wright Township Municipal Park. This event is free and open to boys and girls ages 9-14 and the cutoff date is September 1 for age eligibility. Also a proof of age is required. The Blytheburn Lake Association will sponsor a bass tournament Sunday, September 25th. Boats are to be in the water at 6:30 a. m. and out at 11 a. m. . The fee is $40 for 2-member team. It is catch and release and all bass must measure at least 15 inches to qualify. Boats must be equipped with live wells. Fifty percent of the entry fee will be given as prizes. St. Martin in the Fields is sponsoring the FOURTH Mountain Top Kite Festival on October 1st. This will be a fantastic event for “children” of all ages and the fourth one to be held by St. Martin’s in our area. Each child can sign up to build a free kite from a kit and then helped to learn how to fly it. There will be a kite flying exhibition by the Pocono Kite Symphony and a DJ will keep you entertained. Mark your calendar now so as not to miss out on this experience. A bounce house, face painter and a balloon sculptor will be on hand for more fun things to do. There will be a refreshment stand with a selection of items.
Chinese/Tricky Tray Auction on October 1at the Park across from St. Martin in the Fields Church. There are many items to peruse and drop you tickets in the cans. There will be gift baskets, white elephant items, gift certificates and other treasures. This takes place during the Kite Festival and is sponsored by the Church.
St. Mary’sYouth Group-Dorrance will hold a BINGO on Sunday, October 2 in the parish social hall (3529 Saint Mary’s Road, Wapwallopen). Prizes include Vera Bradley items, Designer Handbags, and Polish Pottery. Doors open at noon, games start at 1 p. m. This is an all paper Bingo, $20 -20 games.
