Crestwood High School will be celebrating the 2016 Homecoming on Saturday, September 24.
The week leading up to the parade has many activities to help raise spirits for the big game.
The Crestwood football team will take on Pottsville in the Homecoming Game. Kickoff is 7 p. m.
The Powder Puff game will be held Thursday, September 22th at 5:45pm on the football field. Admission costs $3.00. The public is welcomed to attend. The concession stand will be open. Proceeds benefit Crestwood HS Senior Class
The CHS Homecoming Dodge Ball Tournament will be held Friday, September 23rd at 6:00pm in the HS gymnasium. Admission costs $2.00 for the public. A small snack stand will be available. Proceeds benefit the Middle School and the High School student activities.
The 2016 Homecoming Parade will held on Saturday, September 24th at approximately 4:00pm. The parade will begin on Division Street by the Christ United Methodist Church and will proceed down South Main Road to Crestwood High School.
The crowning of the 2016 Homecoming Queen and King will take place on Saturday, September 24th at 6:25pm on the football field. The Homecoming game against Pottsville Area will follow at 7:00pm.
Ten students will be vying for the title of Homecoming Queen and King. They are: Madisyn Granoski, Ashley Lewis, Megan Hudock, Nellie Jones, Lauren Rowski, John McGroarty, Garrett McAfee, Lance Blass, Ben Kreuzer, and Ian Beach.
Megan Hudock Escorted by Lance Blass
Megan Hudock is the daughter of Mike and Melissa Hudock. She has a sister Rachel. Megan is the captain of the Crestwood Cheer team, and a member of National Honor Society. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and working at Woods Ice Cream. Megan plans on attending college to major in Pediatric Nursing.
Lance Blass is the son of Joe and Nancy Blass. He is a member of the football, basketball and lacrosse teams at Crestwood High School. He enjoys fishing, skiing, and being outdoors. Following graduation, Lance plans to attend Cornell University and major in environmental engineering.
Madisyn Granoski Escorted by John McGroarty
Madisyn Granoksi is the daughter of Melanie and Lee Makowski. Maddi is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, and the captain of the Crestwood Varsity field hockey team. She enjoys spending time with her Nan, riding horses, and talking her little brother Garrett on quad rides along with four-legged best friend, Lexi. Following graduation, Maddi plans to attend Misericordia University in hopes of one day becoming a nurse anesthetist.
John McGroarty is the son of John and Donna McGroarty. He is a member of the Crestwood golf and volleyball teams as well as the Boy Scouts of America. John is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. In his free time, John enjoys playing golf and soccer with his friends as well as playing guitar and lifting weights. Following graduation, John plans to attend Coastal Carolina University to study kinesiology.

Nellie Jones is the daughter of Greg and Judy Jones. Nellie is a member of Key Club, French Club, and National Honor Society. She enjoys skiing, yoga, and hanging out with friends. Following graduation, Nellie plans to attend college and major in biology.
Ben Kreuzer is the son of George and Buffy Kreuzer. Ben is a member of the young scholars program and the Crestwood Comet football team. He enjoys baseball and fishing. Following graduation, Ben plans to attend college.
Ashley Lewis Escorted by Garrett McAfee
Ashley Lewis is the daughter of Robert and Josie Lewis. Ashley is a member of both concert and jazz band. She enjoys painting and playing the guitar. Following graduation, Ashley plans to attend Boston University and major in pharmacy.
Garrett McAfee is the son of John McAfee and Terry Donnelly. Garrett is a member of the Crestwood football and lacrosse team. He enjoys hanging out with his friends. Following graduation Garrett plans to attend Penn State and major in engineering.
Lauren Rowski Escorted by Ian Beach
Lauren Rowski is the daughter of Joe and Chris Rowski. Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Key Club, and the field hockey and lacrosse teams. She is also the senior class treasurer. Lauren enjoys playing piano, listening to music, and hanging out with her dog, Maggie. Following graduation, Lauren plans to attend college to pursue a career as a physician’s assistant.
Ian Beach is the son of Tina beach and the stepson of Joe Stemko. He is a member of both marching and jazz band, and the model UN club. Ian is the senior class vice president. He enjoys creating videos for YouTube. Following graduation, Ian plans to attend Penn State to major in aerospace engineering.
