The next Teen Mass will be Sunday, January 15 at 6 p. m. in the church. Teens are welcome to attend Mass and then join in on Teen Nite with food, drink, open gym, a movie, and karaoke. Students in grades seven through twelve are welcome.
Choir rehearsals will resume on Wednesday, January 11in the Church. New members are always welcome! If you are thinking about joining the adult choir or just have any questions, please contact Joe Dubinski, 570-479-3856 or stop and talk to him after one of the weekend Masses.
The Pro-Life Annual Baby Bottle Collection will take place on the weekend of January 21/22. If you took a baby bottle last weekend, we ask that you fill it with your loose change and return it on the weekends of January 14/15 and January 21/22. The money collected will go to support our local Pennsylvanians for Human Life efforts. Your generosity will truly help.
Religious education for K through sixth grade will not be held the weekend of January 15/16 in observance of Martin Luther King holiday. Classes will resume on January 22/23.
VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children for Adults Program is a mandatory 3-hour training session for all employees and adult volunteers who work with children throughout the Diocese of Scranton. You must also complete a background clearance. This training session focuses on ways to make and maintain a safe environment. All those attending the training will learn to recognize the warning signs of child sexual abuse and respond appropriately. VIRTUS training session is scheduled for our Parish Community on: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre Student Center, Walsh Room beginning at 1-3:30 p. m. It is time for training new altar servers. This is an opportunity for boys and girls in the third grade through high school who have received First Holy Communion. Training sessions are February 1, 8 and 15 at 6 p. m. in the Church. You must attend all 3 sessions! Please complete the form in the bulletin and return to the Parish Office or drop in the collection basket.
A Retrouvaille weekend will be held at the Ramada Inn in Clarks Summit on February 24-26. This is a weekend program for married couples who may be experiencing tension, stress, and loneliness in the marriage relationship. The program helps couples, even those separated and divorced, to communicate better and resolve conflicts in their relationships. The cost for the program is by donation. Registration is required.
