In the state-mandated annual ritual, the Dorrance Township board of supervisors reorganized on Tuesday, January 3rd.
The process starts with the leaders appointing temporary officers to conduct the initial steps, and culminates in the permanent appoint of officers.
The new year will see a return to Chairman by Gary Zane and Bill Wengrzynek was re-appointed as Vice Chair. Supervisor Kevin Gallagher was appointed as overseer of roads, plus he will also serve another year on the planning commission.
In addition, Secretary-Treasurer Patricia Davis; Roadmaster Todd Badman; Zoning Officer Alan Snelson and Sewage Enforcement Officer John Jenkins were retained in their positions. Staff wages were approved as follows: Secretary/ Treasurer -$36,500 annually; Roadmaster $20.15 per hour; CDL Driver/ Equipment Operator/ Mechanic -$19.15; Equipment Operator/CDL truck driver with one or more years of service -$18.90; Equipment Operator/CDL truck driver with less than one year of service -$16.33 and starting wage for Equipment Operator/CDL truck driver -$15.33. The zoning officer received $25 per hour and the recycling attendants are paid $8.75 per hour.
Professional advisor Donald Karpowich was re-appointed as solicitor to both the supervisors and the planning commission at a cost of $90 per hour in each role. Davis is again recording secretary to the planners.
Pennoni Associates will serve as township engineer on an as needed basis, with Alfred Benesch & Company named as engineer alternate.
Gwen Sakowski will continue as EMA Coordinator. She and Dorrine Engler were appointed as Auditors.
