Nancy J. Calderone, 84, a resident of Wesley Village, formerly of Mountain Top, died peacefully on Jan. 16, 2017, in the Wesley Village Nursing Home.
Her husband of 63 years is Gerald H. Calderone Sr.
Born Jan. 3, 1933, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Gwendoline (Hopkin) James. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Nancy was a devoted member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Mountain Top, as well as the Ladies Auxiliaries of both the Keystone Consistory of the Valley of Scranton and Irem Temple, Dallas.
Nancy is survived by her son Gerald Jr., of Los Angeles; her daughter, Judith Ann Ahlbrandt and her husband, Dr. Duane, of York; her sister, Judith Ann Hunter and her husband, John, of Justus; her brother, Robert James and his wife, Terri, of Chinchilla; grandchildren, Gerald H. Calderone III and his wife, Erin, of Los Angeles, Nancy A. Calderone, of Rockville, Md., Alberto Calderone, USMC, of Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville, N. C., Amy Ahlbrandt and Steven Ahlbrandt, both of York; her great-granddaughter, Guilianna, of Los Angeles; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William James and Milton James Jr.
The family would like to thank the outstanding staff of the Wesley Village for their excellent care of Nancy.
Funeral services were held in the Christ United Methodist Church, Mountain Top, by the Rev. J. P. Bohanan, pastor. Private interment followed in the Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.
