Glenn R. Hontz, 69, Dorrance, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at the Butler Valley Manor Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 27, 1947, in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late John W. and Isabelle (Austin) Hontz.

A graduate of Coughlin High School and King’s College, he was the co-founder of Mountain Top Electric Inc. For 23 years he worked with his business partner and best friend, Richard Lewis. Glenn enjoyed nature and watching the wildlife from his home. He also was a train enthusiast and fond of steam locomotives.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 30 years and caregiver during his illness, Lynn (Sartin) Hontz; brothers, John Hontz Jr. and Bruce Hontz; a niece and several nephews. Also surviving are his pets and his special buddy, Enzo.

The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.
