The Diocese of Scranton Third Annual Catholic Men’s Conference will be held Saturday, May 6 from 8 a. m. until 3 p. m. in the King’s College Scandlon Gym at 149 N. Main Street in Wilkes-Barre.
The conference theme is “Be a Man: Mary’s Call to Battle,” and will include Mass, Reconciliation, music, popular Catholic vendors, lunch, and time for reflection. All men of the parish are invited. Featured presenters will be Fr. Andrew Apostoli, CFR, considered one of the world’s foremost experts on the apparitions of Fatima; Steve Ray, Catholic speaker, author, and pilgrimage guide; and Matt Fradd, an apologist and speaker with Catholic answers. The World Day of the Sick is celebrated annually on February 11, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. On this day, Bishop Bambera will celebrate the 12:10 p. m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Peter/ This liturgy will include the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. All are welcome. CTV: Catholic television will broadcast the Mass.
A Retrouvaille weekend will be held at the Ramada Inn in Clarks Summit on February 24-26. This is a weekend program for married couples who may be experiencing tension, stress, and loneliness in the marriage relationship. The program helps couples, even those separated and divorced, to communicate better and resolve conflicts in their relationships. The cost for the program is by donation. Registration is required. On June 11, the Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, D. D., J. C. L., Bishop of Scranton, will celebrate the Wedding Anniversary Mass at 2:30 PM in the Cathedral of Saint Peter, Scranton, for couples celebrating their 25th or 50th year of marriage in 2017. Couples will have the opportunity to renew their marriage vows. A reception will follow in the Diocesan Pastoral Center, where anniversary couples will be able to have their picture
taken with the Bishop. Eligible couples should give their names and a mailing address to the Parish Office (570-474-6315) by March 7.
The following items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: boxed soup instead of Ramon noodles, noodles, cream soups, baked beans, jelly, peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna, mayonaisse, pudding, jello, sugar, hot chocolate and coffee. Please drop off the items in the annex part of our church.
