The Rotary Club of Mountain Top is pleased to announce its 7th Taste of the Mountain event scheduled for May 21, 2017, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.
As always, the popular event will feature Mountain Top area restaurants offering samples of their favorite dishes.
One big change for this year’s event is that it is coming back to the Glen Summit Clubhouse where the inaugural Taste of the Mountain was held in 2010. “Our repeat attendees have told us that they preferred the more intimate atmosphere of the Glen Summit setting. Plus, it is closer for Mountaintop residents,” said Michelle Reilly, president of the Rotary Club of Mountain Top. “Bringing it back here, though, means that we have to limit the number of tickets to 170. Considering we sold more than 250 two years ago, we anticipate that demand is going to be tight.”
As of March 16th the following restaurants and other vendors have committed to the event: Theodora’s, Ice House Pub, King’s Ristorante, Cavanaugh’s, and Simply Homebrew/Honeyhole Winery.
“As in the past, restaurants come on board as the event approaches. We anticipate having at least a dozen,” Reilly said, and suggested people keep an eye on the Rotary Club of Mountaintop’s Facebook page for announcements of restaurants joining the event. “Like our Facebook page and click on the Taste of the Mountain event and you’ll be kept up to date in real time.”
Restaurants wishing to participate in the event should call Rotary members Paul Cwalina at 570-881-1722 or Dave Suitch at 570-498-4641 to secure a spot. “Space is limited, so we encourage restaurants to reserve one as soon as possible.”
Jazz music has also been a staple of the event each year and this year’s event will be no exception.
Tickets for the event are $40 each and will be available at the Triangle Pharmacy beginning Wednesday, March 22nd or online at www.TasteOfTheMountain.com
