Light the Fire-Please mark your calendars for June 28! Light the Fire is an all day Youth Rally for students in seventh grade and older! The day includes nationally known keynote speaker Noelle Garcia, workshops, Adoration, Mass, and an opportunity for confession and to meet other young Catholics from our Diocese. Permission slips will be available soon. Total cost $30. Youth Group pays $5. Students pay $25.
First Holy Communion Choir-Please come out and lend your voice to the beautiful celebration being planned for First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 21. Anyone in seventh grade through adult is welcome. The first practice will be held on Wed., May 3, at 6:15 p. m.
Cemetery-The blessed grounds of a Catholic cemetery have safeguards, mandated by the Church’s Canon Law, that guarantee permanence, reverence, and respect for the remains of the deceased. We do not permit people to walk their dogs through our cemetery.
Bazaar 2017 is scheduled Saturday, June 24 from 4-11 p. m., and Sunday, June 25 from 4-10 p. m. A meeting will be held Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p. m. in the dining room.
Stand chairs, workers for booths, and pierogi makers are needed. Dates will be set for pierogi making at this meeting. Please come to the meeting and volunteer your time either before the event, the weekend of or afterwards. If you cannot make the meeting call the office to sign up.
Summer Mission Trip-Our students and adult chaperones will be traveling to Rainelle, WV to volunteer with Potomac Highlands Fuller Center for Housing. WV was devastated by floods in June 2016. There were 12,000 homes destroyed and 700 businesses affected. Students entering seventh grade this fall and older are eligible. Date: July 23-29, 2017. Cost: $420, with fundraising $200. There are fundraising opportunities available for all students. We also have a sponsor program. No student ever misses the trip due to restricted finances. Call the parish office for applications or more information. Minimal Spaces left! All forms and payment are due by June 1.
The Youth Group will hold their Vera Bradley/Handbag Bingo on Sunday, May 7 at 1 p. m. Door open at noon. $20-20 games, all paper. There will be two specials and a winner take all cash coverall. Fall cash prize was $240. Kitchen will be open for lunch.
Our parish is participating in the Pro-Life Center’s Baby Bottle Project throughout the month of May. Please place your donations -change, dollar bills, or checks payable to the Pro-Life Center, in the bottles. The drive will end May 28. The Pro-Life Center also accepts clothing up to 12 months, blankets, diapers, and other necessary items for babies all year. For more information call Betty at 823-1819.
Mother’s Day Carnation Drive will be held on Sunday, May 14. Donation $1 per flower. to order bouquets or a large quantity please call the parish office by May 3.
