St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Rev. Joseph Evanko, and Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.
First Holy Communion is scheduled Sunday, May 21, during Mass.
Altar Server Classes-Father Jeff has scheduled Altar Server classes! All students who have received their First Holy Communion are invited to assists Father Joe and Father Jeff by serving at the Table of the Lord. Classes will be held on Thursday evenings, June 8 and 15, at 6:30, in the church. Please call the parish to sign up, however walk-ins are welcome. Families choose the Saturday or Sunday schedule.
Light the Fire-Please mark your calendars for June 28! Light the Fire is an all day Youth Rally for students entering seventh grade and older! The day includes nationally known keynote speaker Noelle Garcia, workshops, Adoration, Mass, and an opportunity for confession and to meet other young Catholics from our Diocese. Permission slips will be available soon. Total cost $30. Youth Group pays $5. Students pay $25.
Bazaar 2017 will be held Saturday, June 24 from 4-11 p. m., and Sunday, June 25 from 4-10 p. m. The next meeting is Tuesday, May 23, at 7 p. m. m
Pierogi Making: Pierogi will made on Saturday, June 3, at 8 a. m., Sunday, June 4, at 11a.m., and Mon-Thu at 8:30 a. m.
Raffle Tickets will be ready for pick-up next weekend. Please help defray the cost of postage by picking up your envelope in the back of the church.
Truckload of Groceries Second Collection will be held the weekends of May 27 and 28, and June10 and 11.
Help Needed!-This is our biggest fundraiser. Many people are needed for the event to be successful. Please come to the meeting and volunteer your time either before the event, the weekend of or afterwards. If you cannot make the meeting please call the office to sign up. We will let you know which stands are available.
Youth Group Summer Mission Trip-Our students and adult chaperones will be traveling to Rainelle, WV to volunteer with Potomac Highlands Fuller Center for Housing. WV was devastated by floods in June 2016. Students entering seventh grade this fall and older are eligible. Date: July 23-29, 2017. Cost: $420. -with fundraising $200. There are fundraising opportunities available for all students. We also have a sponsor program. No student ever misses the trip due to restricted finances. Call the parish office for applications or more information. Minimal Spaces left! All forms and payment are due by June 1.
Pro-Life Baby Bottle Project-Our parish is participating in the Pro-Life Center’s Baby Bottle Project throughout the month of May. Please place your donations -change, dollar bills, or checks payable to the Pro-Life Center, in the bottles. The drive will end May 28.
