Helen Molitoris, 95, of Mountain Top and Nuangola, died peacefully July 22, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton.
She was born in Plains Twp., daughter of the late John and Anna Sekerak Matsko.
Helen was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1940. During most of her career life, Helen was involved in personnel management, having been employed as personnel manager by the Carr Biscuit Co. for many years and later as same by the American Tobacco Co., Ashley branch.
Helen was a member of St. Jude’s Church, Mountain Top, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer for many years. Helen had also been an active volunteer for the Association for the Blind for 14 years and a member of the board of the Mountain Top Ambulance Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sisters, Anna Jastremski and Mary Harostock; and brother, George Matsko.
Helen and John were married for nearly 60 years and enjoyed many fulfilling activities, including skiing, golfing and traveling. Their travels included trips to Spain, South America and the southwest United States. Surviving are a daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at noon Friday in St. Mary’s Church, Dorrance Twp.
