Eugene L. Falchek, 72, Mountain Top, died Sept. 23, 2017.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, on May 7, 1945, the son of the late Leonard and Regina “Cherpak” Falchek. He was a member of the graduating class of 1963 of Marymount High School. He was proud to serve his country in the U. S. Army from 1965-1968 and in the Vietnam Conflict from 1967-1968. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and Expert Medal.
He was employed as a production worker for 35 years by CertainTeed, Moutain Top, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley and the United Auto Workers Union.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Lenore Botsko.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Maggie “Reese” Falchek, at home; sons, David Falchek and his wife, Rosemary Gownley, Scranton; and Michael Patrick Falchek and his wife, Kimberly, Salem, Mass.; four grandchildren, Seth and Eli Falchek, Gabriella and Samuel Falchek; brother, Leonard Falchek, Topeka, Kan.; sister, Ann Marie Walters and her husband Wayne, Morris Plains, N. J.; and several nieces and nephews.
