Republican and Democratic primary winner for Magisterial District Judge, Ferris Webby, humbly invites friends and community members to join him for a fundraiser to help complete the journey of electing Mountain Top’s next Magisterial District Judge. Even though Webby won both primary elections, the community must still band together to officially vote him into office in November. On Thursday, October 19 from 5: 30-8 p. m. at King’s Pizza, 49 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, attendees can enjoy food and drinks, including beer, soda and coffee for $20 per person. Yard signs will be available as Webby looks for continued support and one last show of unity from Mountain Top and the surrounding communities.
The next meeting of the Mountain Top Welcome Club will be on Thursday, October 19th beginning at 12 p. m. The meeting will be held at the Mountain Top Presbyterian Church, 9 Chestnut Street. Dr. Jill Snyder from Lehigh Valley Health Network will discuss women’s health. Lunch is $8. Babysitting will be provided FREE of charge. Home-made soup and fresh bread sale at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. Vegetable beef and chicken noodle will be the featured soups, together with freshly baked bread. Soups are $7and bread is $4 per loaf. Call in your order to Joan at 570-474-5587 by October 20th for pick up at the Church on October 27th between 3 and 6 pm. The Church is located at the corner of Nuangola and Church Roads.
Emmanuel United Church of Christ will hold its family-style Turkey Supper on Saturday, October 21 from 3 to 7 p. m. The meal includes turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, homemade pickled cabbage, bread, beverage, and dessert. Take Outs are available. Ticket prices are $11 for adults, $4 for children age 6 to 11; children 5 and under for free; or $11.00 for a well-portioned take-out. If you would like to reserve tickets for the meal, please call the Church Office at 570 868-5675. Tickets will be available for sale at the door. Emmanuel UCC is located at the end of Alberdeen Road in Dorrance Township, Mountain Top, across from Andy’s Gas Station.
