Two Crestwood Golfers Advance To East Regional Tournament

In the Wyoming Valley Conference District 3A tournament at Fox Hill Country Club on October 2.

Angle finished in second place with 78. Angle’s finish qualifies him to play in the East Regional Tournament on October 16. Eight golfers from the WVC qualified for the postseason.

In the girls Class 3A-4A Subregional, Crestwood’s Evie Williams came in 2nd with a 91, advancing to East Regionals.

Olivia Donnini came in 4th with a score of 93. Sara Hall placed with 103 strokes.

Other Comets competing in the tournament were Harper who placed 12th, Bono finished 13th and Golden placed 21rd. A total of 31 golfers competed.

Crestwood won the Wyoming Valley Conference Class 2A golf team championship on September 27. Crestwood’s total was 302 to beat Dallas with 307 and Tunkhannock with a team score of 348 at Fox Hill in Exeter.

Jeremy Harper carded the low score for the Comets with a 73 that ties the best round of his high school career. Harper’s 73 was three strokes better than he scored in the tournament on September 25.

Other Crestwood golfers competing were: Angle, with 74, Golden, 77, Bono, 78, Drew Barno, 89, and Donnini, 91.

The Crestwood Golf Team opened their season winning the Tryba Tournament for the third time in four years.

The top Crestwood scorers who won the Tryba Tournament were Golden who placed first with 72 strokes. Junior Harper, had a score of 73, senior Angle, with 75, and junior Bono, 79.
