SAINT JUDE PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN CLASSES CELEBRATE FEAST OF SAINT FRANCIS-On October 4th the Kindergarten and Preschool Classes at Saint Jude School learned about Saint Francis and his abiding love of animals. Deacon Gene Kovatch spoke with the children about Saint Francis and taught the children about the act of blessing special objects. He, along with the teachers, helped the children to make the sign on the cross on their stuffed animals using holy water to bless the toys brought from home. The Saint Francis stuffed animal blessing is an annual tradition at Saint Jude School, one Deacon Kovatch looks forward to each year. The children were also treated to a visit by a lamb named Oreo. Deborah Jones brought the lamb in to help celebrate the feast day. Mrs. Jones’s granddaughter is a member of Mrs. Barney’s Preschool class.
