Thelma I. Perkins

Thelma I. Perkins, 97, a life resident of Mountain Top, died October 28, 2017, at the Mountain Top Senior Care Center.

Born in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late John and Irene Zearfoss McCann.

Thelma served in the U. S. Army during World War II and worked at Dana Perfume before retiring.

A woman of strong faith, she was a member of St. Jude Parish and was a dedicated caregiver for her family. Thelma was very proud of her McCann family’s Irish heritage and her military service.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband Robert L. Perkins; children, Ann Marie Gola and Robert J. Perkins; and her brother, James McCann, who died during World War II.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Fornitt, with whom she resided; grandchildren, Thomas and Molly Fornitt, Robert Perkins, and Jo Ann and Joseph Gola; several great grandchildren; and many McCann cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of McCune Funeral Service Inc.
