After a long and courageous battle, Mary Ellen Perry of Mountain Top succumbed to her illnesses and died in the early morning hours of Oct. 7, 2017. She was just 63 years young.
Known to most as “Ellie” or “Ellen,” she was born in Wilkes-Barre on Jan. 10, 1954, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Abromavage.
She graduated from Coughlin High School in 1972 and moved to Mountain Top in the early 1980s.
A sensitive and creative soul, Ellen worked in interior design and enjoyed making gift baskets, wreaths and other home furnishings in her free time.
She is survived by her sons, Dale and wife, Kathie, Uniondale; and Jacob and wife, Marisa, Boynton Beach, Fla.; grandsons, Robert and Ryan; sisters, Karen Webster, Avondale; and Melanie Abromavage, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Robert Abromavage, Goldsborough; one nephew; three nieces; and her beloved cat, Abbey.
The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to Donald Perry Jr., once her husband and forever her friend, for all his love and support over the years, and his invaluable help in caring for her in the end.
At Ellen’s request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family from Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, Wilkes-Barre.
