St. Jude’s Catholic Church services are Saturday: 4 p. m. and Sunday: 8:30 a. m. and 11 a. m.

Parish office hours are Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a. m.-3 p. m.; Friday and Saturday: closed and Sunday: 9:30 a. m.-12:30 p. m.

A Teen Mass will be held Sunday, November 12 at 6 p. m. in Church, followed by Teen Nite for grades 8th thru 12th. Everyone welcome.

Grandparents Program-Calling all grandparents interested in talking about faith with your grandchildren in a new way. The first session will be Sunday, November 19 at noon in the school cafeteria. Contact Carrie Grandzol at cgrandzol@stjc.orgto register.

The Giving Tree gives us the opportunity to remember the less fortunate and shut-ins of the parish and community at Christmas. Now is the time to call the Parish Office at 570-474-6315 with their name, address, children’s ages, clothing sizes and any special needs. Names will be accepted up until November 13. All names will be kept confidential.

Feed-a-Friend-St. Jude Parish will participate with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Feed-a-Friend program that helps supply Thanksgiving food bags for families in the Mountain Top area.

Suggested nonperishable food items include: boxes of stuffing mix, pie crust mix, Bisquik, Jello, pudding, instant potatoes, and hot roll mix and cans of vegetables, fruit, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, applesauce, soup and pie filling. No glass please.

Items may be dropped off at the church and placed in containers located in the Narthex marked Feed-a-Friend until Friday, November 17.

On Saturday, November 18th, volunteers are needed for Feed-A-Friend to meet at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to sort the food for distribution. Volunteers are needed from 9:30-11 a. m. and 11 to 12:30 p. m. If you can help call the Parish Office at 570-474-6315.

Fr. Kevin will begin his retirement on November 22. Fr. Michael Drevitch will join the parishes as Assistant pastor on November 25. Fr. Drevitch was ordained in 2016 and has served Epiphany Parish in Sayre for the past year and a half. He is a Wilkes-Barre native and his home parish is Corpus Christi in West Pittston.

St. Jude’s Kids Club will be selling “Be The Change” Bracelets after all Masses Nov. 11/12 and Nov. 18/19 in memory of Gerard Grandzol. Proceeds will benefit the St. Jude Social Actio Committee.

Advent by Candlelight is an evening of fellowship, spiritual reflection, desserts and beautiful table settings on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:30 p. m. in St. Jude School Cafeteria. If you are interested in hosting a table, contact Theresa Kline at 570-239-0959.
