St. Jude’s Participating In Feed-A-Friend

St. Jude’s Catholic Church services are Saturday: 4 p. m. and Sunday: 8:30 a. m. and 11 a. m.

Parish office hours are Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a. m.-3 p. m.; Friday and Saturday: closed and Sunday: 9:30 a. m.-12:30 p. m.

Grandparents Program-Calling all grandparents interested in talking about faith with your grandchildren in a new way. The first session will be Sunday, November 19 at noon in the school cafeteria. Email Carrie Grandzol at cgrandzol@stjc.orgto register.

The Giving Tree gives us the opportunity to remember the less fortunate and shut-ins of the parish and community at Christmas. Now is the time to call the Parish Office at 570-474-6315 with their name, address, children’s ages, clothing sizes and any special needs. Names will be accepted up until November 13. All names will be kept confidential.

Feed-a-Friend-St. Jude Parish will participate with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Feed-a-Friend program that helps supply Thanksgiving food bags for families in the Mountain Top area.

Suggested nonperishable food items include: boxes of stuffing mix, pie crust mix, Bisquik, Jello, pudding, instant potatoes, and hot roll mix and cans of vegetables, fruit, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, applesauce, soup and pie filling. No glass please.

Items may be dropped off at the church and placed in containers located in the Narthex marked Feed-a-Friend until Friday, November 17.

On Saturday, November 18th, volunteers are needed for Feed-A-Friend to meet at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to sort the food for distribution. Volunteers are needed from 9:30-11 a. m. and 11 to 12:30 p. m. If you can help call the Parish Office at 570-474-6315.

St. Jude School is selling “Save Around Coupon” books for $25. Greta deals with $5 coupons for Weis and all major retailers. Call the school at 570-474-5803 with any questions.

The Sanctuary Lamp in the church burns 24 hours to remind us of the sacramental presence of Jesus Christ. Parishioners may request the Sanctuary Lamp to burn for one week in memory or in honor of a loved one. Intentions will be published in the weekly bulletin. The customary donation is $10. Please contact the parish office to schedule a Memorial. Intentions begin the first week of Adventm Sunday, December 3rf.

Advent by Candlelight is an evening of fellowship, spiritual reflection, desserts and beautiful table settings on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:30 p. m. in St. Jude School Cafeteria. St. Jude’s 11th Annual Lessons & Carols Concert will be held Sunday, December 17th at 4 p. m. in the church. The concert tells the story of our salvation history in Christ and features the church Music Ministry and Christmas Pageant, guest instrumentalists and a light reception to follow in the school cafeteria.
