‘Forever In My Heart’Winter Coat Drive

The Boy Scouts of America and the Wascavage Family, to honor the memory of their son Matthew Wascavage, are collecting winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for those in need. All sizes for children and adult are needed. Please drop off new and gently used winter items in the collection boxes located in the Mountaintop Eagle office at 85. S. Main Road, the NEPA Boy Scouts of America office on Montage Mountain Road, and Lewith & Freeman office Mountaintop. Donations will be accepted now up to December 29. Thank you for your help in keeping someone warm this winter. Items will be taken to the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen clothes room and shelter locations throughout Northeastern and Central PA. Winter Craft & Vendor Fair

Fritzingertown Senior Living Community is having their Winter Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, Dec 2nd from 10 am -3 pm at 159 S Old Turnpike Road in Drums. In addition to crafters and vendors there will be tricky trays, food, refreshments as well as Poinsettias for sale. All proceeds will benefit United Charities.

MS Kirby Library Events

The Kirby Library will hold a 2017 Holiday Vendor Show on Saturday, December 2 from 10am to 3pm at the library. It’s the perfect place to get started on your holiday shopping! Great gifts from a variety of vendors. If you would like to be a vendor, contact Allison at 570-474-9313. On Saturday, December 3 from 12pm to 4pm, the library will hold its Holiday Bingo in the Crestwood High School cafeteria. Doors open at noon and bingo begins at 1pm. Holiday Quilt & Crafts Show

The White Haven Area Community Library will host their 7th annual Holiday Quilts & Crafts Show on Sat., Dec. 2 from 10 am to 3 pm. The event will be spread over two venues within walking distance: the historic DeWitt Homestead, a restored Victorian home circa 1875 located at 231 Wilkes-Barre Street, and the White Haven Area Community Library, located in the historic railroad Engine House at 121 Towanda Street in White Haven. Local crafters and artisans will be offering hand sewn goods, knit and crochet items, pins, wood crafts, candles, soaps, paper goods, pet products, wreaths and floral arrangements, chocolate lollipops, glassware, photography, and many more items for your holiday shopping. Refreshments of hot cider and cookies will be served. A concession stand offering homemade halushki, hot dogs and seasonal treats will be located at the Engine House. Delicious baked goods will be available for sale, Holiday Gift Basket raffle tickets and tickets for a Quilt raffle will be available for sale at both sites. Donation is $5.00 for adults. Blessing And Healing Service

On December 2nd, 2017 at 5:00 p. m., Emmanuel United Church of Christ will be holding a Blessing and Healing worship service. The service will contain a short liturgy, communion, anointing, and an opportunity to pray with Pastor Lou Aita if you like. All are invited to attend. Please call 570-582-9550 with any questions.

GFWC Mountain Top To Meet

GFWC Mountain Top will hold their regular monthly meeting on December 4th @ 6:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church 175 S. Main Road Mountain Top. Area women ages 18 and older are always welcome to attend and learn more about the club. Holiday Roll Sale

GFWC -Mountain Top is holding a holiday roll sale. The rolls are 9” long and are available in 4 varieties -nut, poppy seed, apricot and prune. The cost is $6.00 for each roll. Slocum Fire Co Santa Visit

On Sunday, Dec. 10th 2017 Santa Claus is coming to the Slocum Fire Hall from 4:30 to 6:00pm. Bring your cameras and take pictures. Children ages 0-12 yrs are welcome.
