Sandra Lorraine Solomon Yaninas, 64, Mountain Top, died Nov. 23, 2017.

Sandra was born in Sunbury to Phyllis Gass Solomon and the late Garvin Solomon.

She attended Shikellamy High School and would go on to graduate from Lock Haven University with a degree in elementary education.

Sandra was employed by Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services, working primarily in Pittston area schools. She was known by many as simply “Mrs. Y.”

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to visit her children and grandchildren and joining her dearest friends for lunch. She was an avid decorator, priding herself in decorating her home for each season and holiday. All who knew her will remember her for her sarcastic and jovial sense of humor and her ability to speak exactly what was on her mind.

Surviving are her husband, William Yaninas; mother, Phyllis Solomon; brother, Curtis Solomon and wife, Constance; daughter, Danica Pennington and husband, Christopher; son, Scott Yaninas; and grandchildren, Noah, Rachel and Zachary.

The funeral was held in St. Martin in-the-Fields, Mountain Top.

Arrangements were by McCune Funeral Home.
