St. Mary’s Offers Help During Christmas

WELCOME! We warmly welcome all visitors! If you are new to our parish community, contact the parish office if you would like to become a member of our parish The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Religious Education K-6: Saint Mary’s Religious education classes meet on Sundays, immediately following Mass. Questions: Mrs. Heller 570-379-2647.

Altar Servers Needed: An Altar Server Class is planned in the near future. All youth who have received their First Communion are invited to serve at the Table of the Lord. Families decide the Saturday or Sunday schedule.

Christmas Eve Family Mass: All parish children are invited to sign up to participate in the program presented before the Christmas Eve Family Mass (4 PM). Please send in the participation form enclosed in the November Family Envelope or call the parish office. Mrs. Stec will be in touch with families regarding practice times and other information.

Sanctuary Candle: We will begin taking names for the 2018 Sanctuary Candle Intentions on December 4. The candle is available weekly for a $5 donation.

Wafer Supper: Saint Theresa’s Guild invites all parishioners to their annual covered dish Wafer Supper on Sunday, December 10, at 6 p. m., in the social hall. RSVP is required to provide an accurate count for table settings, beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and favors. There is a sign up sheet in front of the Angel Room in the back of church. Reservation deadline is December 3.

Youth Group will meet Sunday, December 3, from 6-8 p. m., in the dining room. Parents welcome at all meetings. Questions: Call Molly at 262-4628 or 868-5855.

Babysitting: Parents, would you like a night to shop, decorate, or bake? The Youth Group will be providing Baby Sitting Service on Friday, December 15, 6:30-11 p. m. Earlier drop off can be arranged. The night will include a Christmas movie, cookie decorating, crafts, food, and fun! There is no charge but donations will be accepted. For information call the parish office. RSVP not necessary but appreciated.

Youth Group Christmas Party: Mark your calendars! The party annual Christmas party will be held on Sunday, January 7, 5-8 p. m. in the rectory. Dinner, games, and a $10 optional gift exchange.

Parish Advent Wreath: Advent begins next weekend. Our parish is continuing with the tradition of a Home Made Wreath of donated greens. Please bring your cuttings (not large branches) to the Church by Friday, December 1. Greens may be placed on the side porch.

Angel Tree: The Angel Tree is filled with names of local families, including parish children who could use a helping hand this year. Please choose a tag, then sign the clipboard indicating the child’s ID and if you chose a toy or clothing item. There will also be tags for grocery gift cards for parish families.

New Security System in the Rectory: The rectory will now be locked at all times. Visitors must now ring the bell before being buzzed into the building. There is an intercom for safety purposes.

Christmas Rolls: Altar & Rosary Society is taking orders for Christmas Rolls. There are six varieties available. Cost is $6. Place your pre-paid orders in the collection by Dec. 10. Rolls will be available for pick up December 22, after noon in the rectory meeting room. Questions: Susan 570-868-6983.
