This year’s Feed A Friend project was a huge success thanks to the help of so many caring and giving Mt Top area businesses, groups, and individuals. We were able to provide the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal to 104 Mt Top area families. Meals included all of the traditional items such as a turkey, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, as well as fresh foods such as carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes. We were also able to provide eggs, milk, bread, and butter. The families also had the choice of either an apple or a pumpkin pie. It takes many volunteers to make it all possible. A huge thank you to Gilroy Construction for providing us with the funds to purchase the pies.
To all the businesses who allowed us to put a money canister on their counter, or a food box in their business, and to the people who filled them up, we thank you. Thank you to Weis Market for the donation of bags and bakery goods. Thank you to Carone’s Market for giving us a deal on, and delivering all our fresh foods. Thank you to all the groups who ran food drives and helped us sort all the food.
It is impossible to list all the businesses, groups, or individuals that helped over the past few weeks to make this project a success. Please know that no deed went unnoticed, no matter how small. You have all in some way helped make Thanksgiving better for many of our neighbors in need. In addition, the Mountain Top food bank shelves have been stocked with over 11,000 pounds of food.
God bless you all and may you all have a blessed holiday season.
