Etta Devens, formerly of Mountain Top, died peacefully Dec. 20, 2017, at Partridge Tippet Nursing Facility at Wesley Village, Pittston.
Born Feb. 17, 1924, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late William and Lottie Swank Oswald.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick “Jack” Devens; her son, William Devens; and an infant brother, William.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Sieminski and her husband, John; daughter-in-law, Joan Devens; grandchildren, David Sieminski and his wife, Jennifer, Laura Smith and her husband, Donald, Kathryn Powderly and her husband, James, and Kristi LaVorgna and her husband, Shaun; and her great-grandchildren, Elias and Benjamin Sieminski and Hollis and Jack Smith. Etta is also survived by her brother Donald Oswald, and several nieces.
A memorial service was held in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. The Rev. Michelle Kaufman, officiated.
McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top, assisted the family with the arrangements.
