St. Mary’s ChurchAnnounces Religious Education Schedule

WELCOME! We warmly welcome all visitors! The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Second Grade Parent Meeting will be held Sunday, January 28, during class time. Please meet in the second grade class room. Questions: Mrs. Vencak 570-379-3034

Confirmation Student Sunday classes are 9:30-10:45 a. m., and Monday classes are 6:30-7:40 p. m. Please attend on your scheduled day. It is permissible to attend on the alternate day if you are sick or have other unexpected conflicts.

Seventh Grade Class Schedule: The Seventh Grade Retreat has been rescheduled to March 11. Students will now have classes on January 21/22 and 28/29, 2018.

Eighth Grade Class Schedule: January 21/22, 2018.

Winter Weather Advisory: For everyone’s safety, classes will be cancelled if we have severe weather conditions. Parents should use their judgment on attendance based upon their local road conditions in the event classes are not cancelled. Again for safety, daily Mass at Saint Mary’s will be cancelled if Crestwood SD delays or cancels classes.

Altar Servers Needed: An Altar Server Class is planned in the near future. All youth who have received their First Communion are invited to serve at the Table of the Lord. Families decide the Saturday or Sunday schedule. Please call the parish office to sign up for the class.

Youth Group meeting is Sunday, January 28, in the dining room. Agenda will be in next week’s bulletin. Parents are welcome at all meetings. Questions: Molly 262-4628 or 868-5855, or our Facebook page.

Nite at the Races Date Change: February 24!

Letters will be mailed to homes this week. Start choosing your horse’s name! There is an opportunity for advertising in the program. Call the office for more details.

Help is needed to plan and set up for this evening. It’s not too late to be on the committee. Volunteers are also needed the evening of the event. If you can help please call the parish office, or see Bill Magnotta after Mass.

Food Collection: We are continuing to collect non-perishable food items for our local families in need. Can goods (veggies, soup, fruit), peanut butter & jelly, Mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, crackers, granola, cereal, etc. Thank you!

Food Districtbution: Parish families who could use an addition to your food pantries are encouraged to call the parish office. We can set up a time for you to come in and choose items based upon your family’s needs.

Saint Theresa’s Guild Valentine Luncheon: Members of the Guild will have their annual Valentine Luncheon on Sunday, February 11, at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums, at 1 p. m. Total cost of the luncheon is $25. There will be an optional $5 edible or drinkable exchange. Please remember your Secret Pal gift. If you are unable to attend please bring your gift in advance to the rectory. RSVP to Molly by February 4, with your choice of soup or salad. Payment may be made in advance or brought to the luncheon.

Holy Redeemer High School Grade 8 -Placement/Scholarship Test Result and Registration Night will be held January 24 at 7 p. m. in the Auditorium. Appointments for class scheduling for new students for the 2018-2019 school year will be held on February 8th, 12th and 13th from 3-6 p. m. Call Holy Redeemer’s Guidance Department at 570-829-2424 to set up an appointment

Carones & Weis Gift Cards: Gift cards are available form the parish office in denominations of $25, $50, and $100. Use same as cash. Our parish gets a percentage of all sales. This is a very easy way for parishioners to help raise funds for our parish. Call ahead and your certificates will be ready for pick up after Mass.
