“Soup-er” Bowl Sunday-On

February 4, “Soup-er Bowl” will be held at St. Jude Parish. To help others a zesty meal, cans of soup will be collected to stock the shelves of the Mountain Top Food Bank at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Bins will be located in the Narthex the weekend of Feb. 3-4, 2018. Please continue to donate non-perishable items in the ongoing monthly food collection.

A Ministry Fair will be held the weekend of February 3 and 4.. Please take the time on that weekend in the gathering place to stop and learn all about the ministries in which your help is needed. Pick up a booklet to help you decide what ministry you will serve God and others. There will be descriptions and contact information.

Adoration Chapel: There will be a sign-up for the Adoration Chapel after all Masses on the weekend of Feb. 3 and 4. This is part of the Ministry Fair that will be going on in the Narthex after all Masses. For more information please call Rob or Mary Ann at 570-474-0734.

First Penance Service is scheduled Saturday, February 10th at 9:30 a. m. at St. Jude’s.

Students in grade 7 through 12 are invited to attend Mass and receive ashes on Ash Wednesday, February 14. High school students will be picked up in the high school cafeteria and middle school students in the middle school cafeteria at 1 p. m. Students will return to school in time for dismissal at approximately 2:15

p. m.

In order to attend Mass you must

have a note from your parent. The note must be handed in at St. Jude’s by Monday, February 12. 7th and 8th grade students can hand them in at the religious education classes. High School students can drop them off in the collection basket, at the Parish Office or mail them. If a note is not received by Monday, February 12, you cannot attend Mass with the group. A Vacation Bible School Meeting to discuss this year’s VBS format is scheduled February 11 at 12 noon in St. Jude School Library.

Wedding Anniversary Mass-The Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D. D., J. C. L., Bishop of Scranton, and the Office of Parish Life invite couples celebrating their 25th or 50th anniversary in 2018 to a diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on June 10, 2018. The event includes a 2:30 p. m. Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral followed by a reception. Requests for an invitation, with a mailing address, should be called into the Parish Office, 570-474-6315, no later than March 12, 2018.

The following food items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: boxed soup mix, noodles, cream soups, baked beans, jelly, peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna, mayo, pudding, Jello, sugar, hot chocolate and coffee.
