Louise Marie Gower, 82, White Haven, died surrounded by family on Feb. 6, 2018, at Mountain Top Senior Care.
Born March 12, 1935, to the late Rose and Charles Skollar, she was a graduate of White Haven High School and business college in Wilkes-Barre. She was an active and dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, having taught CCD and the First Communion class for 38 years, and was an extraordinary minister. Her life, rooted in faith and family, was enriched by her community of loved ones.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Edgar A. “Doc” Gower Sr., her sister, Rosalie Simko, and her husband, Paul, and sister-in-law Belva Meckes.
Surviving are her children and grandchildren: Edgar and Joan Gower Jr. (Edgar III and Vanessa, Christine and Ryan, Elise and Jamie, and John Xavier); Gregory and Jill Gower (Katie and Steven, and Sarah); Leslie and Richard Della Croce (Natalie and Michael, Leah, Kenneth and Richard); and Charles and Connie Gower (Elizabeth and John, Brendan, Ryan, Patrick, Olivia, Claire, and Sophia). Her beloved great-grandchildren are Rylie, Braden, Brynn, Abby, Alex, Teagan and Liam. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Lehman Family Funeral Service, White Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church.
