LCCC WILKES-BARRE CENTER OPENS STUDENT FOOD PANTRY-Luzerne County Community College recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new student food pantry at the College’s Wilkes-Barre Center. As part of the ceremony, the Mayor of Wilkes-Barre presented a proclamation recognizing the establishment of the College in Wilkes-Barre in 1967 and honoring the College for its 50th Anniversary. The Mayor also made an in-kind donation to the student food pantry. The new student food pantry is supported by community partners and offers LCCC students quick heat and eat items as well as daily healthy options. Community partners for the new food pantry include Center City Café, Classic Properties, Mahler Law Firm, Dino’s Pizza Express, Luzerne Bank, Luzerne County Community College Foundation, and UGI Utilities, Inc.
